Mark David is a Philadelphia based drummer and music educator.  As an active member of The Benderz, he performs weekly at some of the largest and most renowned music venues, clubs and casinos throughout the East Coast and Midwest regions of the United States.  In addition to his stateside touring experience, drumming has also taken Mark to music venues in Northern Europe and the Caribbean Islands performing various styles of music including pop, rock, country and r&b.

Mark is a graduate of Saint Joseph's University.  He grew up near Philadelphia studying rock, pop, jazz and Latin styles of drumming with master drum educator Mike Merlino and has been actively performing since his late teenage years.  In 2012, Mark filled the drum chair for popular Washington DC pop rock group Practically Einstein (PE), a longtime mainstay of the DC music scene.  During his six years behind the drum kit for PE, he performed at celebrated DC music venues such as The 9:30 Club and Rock and Roll Hotel in support of their 2015 EP Love + Hate, which Mark can be heard on.   Additional highlights with the group included performing at Nationals Stadium in Washington DC, as well as touring overseas across multiple countries in Northern Europe.  During his time in the DC music scene, Mark also toured with original Indie Rock acts French Admirals, recording the group's debut and follow up EPs, and Silhouette Cities.

In 2018, Mark began performing with The Benderz, undoubtedly one of the most active and well traveled musical acts in the United States.  Since joining the group, he has performed over 200 shows across 11 US States, as well as internationally in the Caribbean nation Jamaica, bringing their dynamic mix of pop, rock, country and r&b to music venues, large capacity clubs and casinos, and vacation destinations.  The Benderz are represented and booked by Anderson Entertainment Inc. of Pitman, NJ.

Mark is also an avid music educator, sporting a roster of private drum students at his studio at Bright Lights Music Academy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as well at Chestnut Hill Music Academy, where he has been a longtime faculty member.  Over the past seven years, Mark has taught hundreds of students, learning every day from his students, fellow instructors and his mentors. He prides himself on being a well-rounded and versatile educator and performer, a product of his formal education at Saint Joseph's University.

In addition to music, Mark is a passionate Philly sports fan, has competed in half marathons and long distances races, and enjoys a friendly tennis match.  When he is not on the road with The Benderz or at the studio teaching, he can be found relaxing at home with his four-legged friends.
